This mobile application for battery monitoring was designed specifically for the purpose of facilitating remote observation of study participants, utilizing sensors integrated within the iPhone and Apple Watch. It features a comprehensive symptom diary alongside a series of tasks tailored to assess various functions, including speech, ambulation, balance, and upper-limb coordination. These components echo the methodologies found in standardized clinical assessments such as the Friedreich's Ataxia Rating Scale (FARS) and the Scale for the Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA).

The application leverages elements from Apple's HealthKit and CareKit frameworks to efficiently record sensor data on both the iPhone and Apple Watch. The data gathered through this innovative tool is instrumental in enhancing the understanding of Ataxia, and participant involvement is greatly valued in this pursuit.
